Scenic route in Miho

Miho no Matsubara, known as a scenic spot since ancient times, was registered as a World Heritage Site in June 2013 as part of the Fujisan World Cultural Heritage Site - a place of worship and a source of artistic inspiration. Poems that describe the beauty of Mt. Fuji and its white sand and green pines are included in the Manyoshu. You can also enjoy views of the sacred mountain, Mt. Fuji, from Kamagasasaki, a scenic spot that has been the subject of many paintings and waka poems.

    Shimizu Marine Park

    This is an event plaza and green promenade on the sea side of S-Pulse Dream Plaza. It is a seaside park that features the "Shimizu Port Telfer," a harbor loading and unloading machine that is a nationally registered tangible cultural property, an event plaza surrounded by a corridor reminiscent of a Western European castle wall, a boardwalk, a yacht harbor, and a skateboard park. It can be used for flea markets, outdoor events, etc.

    One of Japan's most scenic spots, with a row of pine trees along the coastline for about 7 kilometers. You can see Mt. Fuji and the Izu Peninsula across Suruga Bay.     Shimizu Lighthouse

    Located on the eastern tip of the Miho Peninsula, this is Japan's first lighthouse made of reinforced concrete, which was first lit in 1912 (Meiji 45). It is currently an unmanned lighthouse (there is a celestial maiden at the top instead of a weather vane).

    Miho Masaki Beach

    Miho Masaki Beach, located in the open sea off the Miho Peninsula, is located on the eastern tip of the Miho Peninsula. If the weather is good, you can enjoy swimming while looking at the World Heritage Site, Mt. Fuji. Swimming areas are marked with buoys. It is dangerous, so please do not leave the swimming areas under any circumstances. Please also be aware that high waves may come in when ships pass by.
