Verkehr Museum
As a "port and ship museum," the Verkehr Museum introduces the history and role of the port through models of ships related to Shimizu Port, ship-related items necessary for navigation, and loading and unloading equipment used by dock workers. Additionally, the Canned Food Memorial Hall at the back of the museum introduces the history of the canned food industry in Shimizu and Shizuoka through actual cans and can labels from the Showa era, as well as early tuna canning equipment. A variety of special exhibitions, including art and history, are held on the second floor of the museum throughout the year.
